Mandy and Kate chat to Michelle, founder of Kaboose, an app that provides a safe space for the autistic and neurodiverse community, aged 7 to 30, to connect with peers around interests, find friends, mentors and jobs.

Seeing her own teen autistic peashoot Nick struggling with loneliness, Michelle decided to develop Kaboose to help him safely find his tribe. She has a professional background in people and culture in the IT field, and decided to use her expertise and connections to bring Kaboose to life.

Michelle chats about Nick’s early years, including diagnosis, early intervention, kinder and schooling and all the challenges that go along with it. Michelle also talks about her family’stime during the pandemic, which was particularly tough on everyone’s mental health. She then chats about the process of developing the app and launching it, the app’s features, and shares some of the wonderful feedback she’s received already.

Thank you for sharing your incredible story with us Michelle, we love Kaboose! Peas, find out more about Kaboose via their website, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
